OHIO'S PREMIERE FILM CAMP FOR KIDS AND TEENS IS FREE!

Now entering its eighth year, Young Filmmakers Academy is Ohio's premiere filmmaking camp for kids and teens - a three-week, real world experience immersed in all aspects of filmmaking. This summer program, led by Oscar nominated, Emmy winning filmmakers with decades of experience, introduces students, ages 12 to 17, to the techniques, language and process of filmmaking and acting. From the idea pitch to the final cut, campers will get hands-on instruction in the areas of screenwriting, pre-production, casting, set building, makeup, production, editing, CGI and more.

Our young filmmakers can choose to attend one, two or all three weeks, depending on their areas of interest. And it all culminates in a Hollywood-style gala premiere where they will walk the red carpet and watch the film with an audience of over 300 spectators and fans.

YFA is designed for kids with varying levels of experience, from those who have never picked up a camera, to those who who have already been making their own short films. Our instructors who are working film professionals, will insure that all kids, no matter how much experience, will upgrade their filmmaking skills by the end of the program.

And because our mission is to bring together talented storytellers and artists from all backgrounds, ethnicities and walks of life, our renowned SUMMER FILMMAKING WORKSHOP IS NOW FREE! With the help of grants, private donors and corporate sponsorships! Just fill out the application below to get started. There is one time $25 application fee.
